Evasive Diary

Nita Mocanu. Evasive diary. 2014. Black and white photographs, prints from personal diary, digital images print. various sizes

After a break in artistic activity, of 5 years, this installation is a truncated exposition of an introspection correlated with the artist’s identity in a poetic form. The text prevails in this intimate exposition, both personal texts are used, such as the censored diary or the texts placed in different locations of the city and photographed, but also texts borrowed from screenshots with subtitles. All these texts create a poetic map of the personal journey from the past years, the meaning is rather subtle and is easily escapes the obvious interpretations as the artistic persona exists vaguely and evasively in the personal life of the artist.
